Just got back from SN flight TG427 (meaning observation flight) to Brunei's Bandar Seri Begawan. It was nice to see pilots working in real environment. This flight left BKK at 9:45am and return to BKK at 4:45 pm.
By the way, on Friday I went on TG215 Bangkok-Phuket-Bangkok. It was a night flight so I didn't take any pictures.
High-level clouds seen from the cockpit. (Cruising at 33000ft)
Cockpit instruments seen from my seat.

This morning I had a chance to sort out Nat's router (WBR-3407A) problem which I'd promised him since last week. At his place, ADSL connection kept dropping every 10 seconds. However, when I plugged it in at my house last night, it's working just fine. It might be because of telephone line.
After searching this webboard, I finally found out some people who were having the exact same problem with True and this specific model combination got a new firmware upgrade and it finally solved their problems. After asking around for a while if anyone could send the firmware image to me, someone finally respond and sent me the image.
The upgrade took only about 2-3 minutes. After the upgrade the router looked normal to me but in order to find out if it really solved the problem I had to bring it to Nat's apartment and plugged it in its real environment. Fortunately, the ADSL connection was alive for at least 10 minutes I monitored. Yeah! Job done.
Also took a chance to upgrade my DG834G router too. Noticed ADSL throughput went a bit higher. Good.

ATT Simulator course is over. Test session took place earlier today. It was a total mess. :(

Reading him's Imitation is entry this morning reminded me of this cafe in Japan. This picture was taken a few years ago. It really made me think of Starbucks, plus it's located across the street.

I've been away for a while. Well, lots of books to study to prepare for simulation class, also have to work on technical dry-runs. Now I look like an insane person who's walking around talking to myself or even point my fingers in the air and act like adjusting something.
I took first simulator session on Sunday. Simulator is basically a cockpit covered by a large box. It's used for training cause it's cheaper and safer than training on the real one. There are 10 sessions for beginners. Each session lasts 6 hours: 2 hours briefing and 4 hours in the sim.
I've never thought it'd be so real! Everything in the cockpit works like the real one and the response is very realistic; like when you're turning, climbing, or landing. Imagine what you feel when you're in a 3D theatre (with some movements).
Have to go, 2nd sim session in the afternoon.

Finally, UBC had cancelled those boring slides intervened during its programs, especially from int'l feeds. There have been attempts years before, but some consumers thought the cable company would benefit from those ads and thus considered it not fair cause they're already paying the cable fees, so they complained to the officials, MCOT, to have those ads banned--wow, what an attitude! I felt pity for the company (and their employees) to have to spend manpower on putting those slides on every single commercial break on every channel.

It's my dad's birthday on Sep 30th. But this year it's even more special because it's also his retirement day. If only he was born a day later, he'd be able to work for another year.
Saturday night we all (the family) had dinner out together at Kongju and Nabeya, located in Pathumwan Princess. They had Korean/Japanese all-you-can-eat buffet, both are my favourites. Food was nice. The hotel was under some sort of renovation so the view wasn't that good. Price was not so expensive. Worth a try.
Tomorrow I have to give my dad a lift to the airport. He's going to spend whole October in Tokyo as a guest lecturer at Keio University.
