It's been like a month since my last update. I was extremely busy during the past week. There're quizzes like every other day. I just took Hydraulics, Pneumatics, and Electrical System. It's like there's never been enough time to read all those books. :-(

I spent the weekend creating this website for my class at www.ap-65.com. These days creating a website is not that difficult anymore. Everything is there, just press "install" and you're all set. All you need to do is the customisation part, and, of course, enter your credit card information.

P'Tong went into monkhood on Sunday. The ceremony started real early, 6am, at a temple near Bang-Na junction which is very far from my house. Anyway I made it there on time. I left early cause I was too sleepy. -_-

There's this pop-jazz trio band playing at Dailicious, Narathiwat-ratchanakarin Rd., from 8pm till 9.30pm, Monday to Thursday. Although they only play what you might have heard a thousand times, I still would like to recommend this. It's definitely a good chill-out after work. The food is great too.

A few things had been added to my wishlist: a watch and a digital camera. No specific model as I'm doing research on that.

Lately, for some reason, I've been having insomnia, which doesn't sound good. I'd wake up at like 4am and couldn't go back to sleep.

Had this High Speed Aerodynamics and Stability & Controls quiz this morning. Thought I wouldn't make it cause I'd fallen asleep on my books the night before. However, I was lucky that the test wasn't very difficult.

Danny Howells in Bangkok

Last night P'Nut (DJ Crybaby) asked me to go to a party at Q Bar, featuring world-famous Danny Howells. I was told he's one of the world's top DJ's playing funk house/progressive with a little bit of trance. He's definitely the style I like. But the ticket was THB1000 and I already had an appointment with my friends so I had to pass. And now I wish I had gone..

Bangkok Subway

On Wednesday I sent my car in for fixing small scratches in front bumper area and it's supposed to finish today according to what I was told. However the guy wrote due date June 18th in the job form. He must be misunderstanding because I said 3 days (including the day I sent the car in) and it's my false as I didn't check it when I received the form.

So today I took my first ride on the subway, or MRT. I had to meet Bas, Title, and Kru Aom, my instructor pilot in my first 10 flight hours, for a lunch at Central Ladprao. It didn't feel so much different from the BTS skytrain except the sliding doors on the platform, and the token. I didn't like how they announced a few stations, ie Rama 9 and QSNCC stations--they said Phra Ram Nine and Queen Sirikit Center, in my opinion, they should have been either Rama Ninth, or Phra Ram Kao, and Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, or just National Convention Center. (Fussy? That's me.) Anyway, in general I liked it more than BTS because the place looked better decorated and it's air conditioned.

Kru Aom hasn't changed a bit from the last time I met him. It's been almost a year now. He left Hua Hin flying school for an airline pilot job at Air Asia, and might leave Air Asia for Aerothai soon. We had lunch at MK and had a long talk about everything. I'm glad to see him again today. Keep in touch, teacher.

Earlier today, before I went home I stopped by at Starbucks Lang Suan for a zip of my favourite Mocha Frappuccino (fatty!) . This place is nice for chilling-out plus there's free wireless internet access for nerds like me. haha It's not too far from my home and despite Bangkok's bad traffic reputation, Lang Suan area isn't affected by it, well at least to some degree. I guess I'll soon become a regular member here.

Today my class ended early so I paid a visit to the fitness center. It was only about 4pm and it's getting crowded already. By 5.30pm it's so crowded that all machines/benches were occupied. (Did I mention I hate crowded places?) And there's this salesperson that tried to sell the personal training program which seemed overpriced to me. I'm a bit disappointed here. Unlike those fitness center in hotels, fitness-only facilities like this Fitness First try to make money from everything, from locker spaces to towels, sometimes I think they try too hard. Well, I used to go to a hotel fitness center and I felt a lot better--staffs are truely friendly, never too many people, no extra charges later, etc.

For the next 3 months, I'll have to stick here because it's stated in the contract. However, after it ends, I plan to move to somewhere else. Have to fine one first though.

While I was driving on the expressway to Bang Na yesterday, there was this poor turtle crossing the street. It must have fallen from a car somehow. When I saw it, it was on the middle of 2nd lane from the right. Although I could manage to avoid driving over it, I didn't think it would survive long. Couldn't stop my car to help it either. I'm sorry turtle.

Because bad things had happened recently, plus that poor turtle I saw yesterday. I'll go make merit this afternoon at Ruam Katanyu Foundation (buy coffin for those who have no relatives) and Wat Pathum Wanaram (Sang-ka-tan: offering dedicated to Buddhist monks).

Thursday and Friday we learn this Business Image and Etiquette class which talked about how you behave, dress, and act in public, good personalities, etc. It's nice and instructors were very knowledgable. I felt like I'd actually learn something comparing to last week's 3-day orientation class.

In the evening, there were 2 parties waiting, a computer engineering department alumni meeting, and TG Fleet Airbus 300-600 (AB6) meeting. I had to go to AB6 meeting because it's our first presence as rookie pilots and it wouldn't be good to miss it. Seniors were very nice and friendly. I felt like joining this fleet already.

Tomorrow I'll be hanging out at Bueng Ta Ko again. haha Gotta practice those turns with a kneeboard.

Bad Habit

Lately I've been having to drive to parties. And of course I had to drive home with some alcohol in my blood. Alcohol reduces consciousness. I could only pray and blame myself for driving a car. Even when I'm not drunk I'm not a good driver. I was only lucky not having any accidents. I'll try my best not to drink and drive again.

New Pilot Recruitment'05

At Impact Arena. There were like 2000 applicants. (wow!) This year's
exam is different from previous years which I think it's very much
harder and it's better because it'd reflect each applicant's real
ability in solving problems. This way incapable applicants will be
eliminated early in the process, thus no unneccessary waste of budget
in later rounds.

And for my presence there I got my first perdium. :-)

Tomorrow there will be written exam of 2005 new pilot recruitment program at Impact Arena, Muang Thong Thani. Good luck everyone.

Going to the Gym

Today I took a step further in my keeping-myself-in-shape plan. I applied for a membership at Fitness First. They charge monthly and although IMO it's a little bit expensive, I think it's gonna worth it. Programs officially start June 15th but in the meantime I'm gonna get myself ready by controlling my diets. Actually it has started last week when my dinners were only salads. This week I will consume less carbohydrate and will not be having dinner. Pray for me, will ya?

By the way, today is Jazz's birthday. Happy Birthday to you, my friend.

Cable Skiing

Finally, yesterday I had a chance to go practice the cable ski thing
at Bueng Ta Ko, Bang-na, with Jade, Jack, and P'Keanu. Got there at
noon, after having been lost for a big while. Admission fees are 200
Baht/hour, 300 Baht/2 hours, and 500 Baht/all day. I bought a 2-hour
ticket cause it's my first time and I need to observe those skilled
boarders more.

Cable-skiing, wakeboarding, or kneeboarding, depending on what kind of
board you're on. Rookies go kneeboarding, the kind of board which the
player sits on. It seemed easy at the first place. But I'm telling
you, it's definitely not as easy as it looks, especially when you have
to go through turns. Either you have to be really in control of your
board and yourself (experience), or you have those powerful muscles
tolerable to stress made by the cable in the turn. Out of 5 rounds,
I'd passed to 2nd turn only one, couldn't even pass the 1st turn in
the other 4. It's getting crowded from 4pm, so we left the place.

Jade is waiting for his new wakeboard to arrive, in a day or two. So
next week we're going there again, maybe on Saturday. Jack and I need
more practice on our kneeboards, and of course Jade is gonna work out
on his new board.

In the evening, there was this terrible rainstorm pouring all over Bangkok. However, we were able to manage to get to SOFA, a small coffee shop in Lan Luang area. Had dinner and a little bit of alcohol before going home.

Earlier today I went to the airport to observe TG's ground staffs, mechanics, and cargo divisions. Pretty exhausted considering the fact that I'd been to escudo the night before. Posted by Hello

I'm going to lose some weight, seriously. Only until recently when I had to wear company uniform, which was made early last year, I started to feel unconfortable in it. I should have noticed it earlier, but it's been a long time since my last time wearing the uniform. (That's my excuse.) BTW, now I weigh 77kg.

I'm also trying to reduce smoking. Actually, it's been a few days already. However, it seems I tend to loose temper so easily lately. I don't know whether it's related to my reducing smoking. Hope it will be better in the next few days.
